Establisher of the Uddhav-Sampraday

Sadguru Shri Ramanand Swami, revered as the incarnation of Uddhavji, was a great spiritual master and the founder of the Uddhav Sampraday. Through his devotion, saintly character, and spiritual guidance, he nurtured a strong fellowship of sadhus and devotees, including Sadguru Shri Muktanand Swami. When Nilkanth Varni arrived in Gujarat after His extraordinary journey across India, Ramanand Swami recognized His divine greatness. He initiated Nilkanth Varni at Piplana, giving Him the names Sahajanand Swami and Narayan Muni. Soon thereafter, recognizing Him as the one destined to lead and spiritually uplift countless souls, Ramanand Swami entrusted the leadership of the Sampraday to Sahajanand Swami at Jetpur in VS 1858 (1801). His greatest contribution was preparing a strong spiritual foundation upon which Bhagwan Swaminarayan would establish and expand the Swaminarayan Sampraday.

Sarvopari Sant - Mother of Satsang

Sadguru Shri Muktanand Swami, born as Mukund in Amrapur on Posh Sud 7, VS 1814 (1758), was the foremost disciple of Sadguru Shri Ramanand Swami and an extraordinary embodiment of saintliness, scholarship, humility, and devotion. Renowned as a profound Sanskrit scholar, poet, musician, philosopher, and accomplished spiritual teacher, he played a foundational role in strengthening and spreading the Swaminarayan Sampraday across Gujarat. His immense literary contribution includes thousands of kirtans, the daily Swaminarayan Aarti, the Muktanand Kavya comprising 24 spiritual works, and a commentary on the Brahma Sutras. Yet beyond his learning and accomplishments, it was his boundless compassion, gentle nature, and motherly care for saints and devotees that earned him the cherished title “Mother of Satsang.” Bhagwan Swaminarayan Himself praised Muktanand Swami as an unparalleled, Sarvopari Sant, and from his sacred spiritual legacy continues the Muktanandi Parampara.

Author of Shri Haricharitramrut Sagar

Sadguru Shri Adharanand Swami, born as Virji in Memka on Jeth Sud 8, VS 1855 (1798), was the leading disciple and devoted attendant of Sadguru Shri Muktanand Swami. Though extraordinarily gifted in poetry, music, painting, sculpture, and scripture, he remained deeply humble and regarded every talent only as a means of serving Bhagwan Swaminarayan and his Guru. Counted among the eight prominent poets of the Sampraday, he composed numerous works, painted one of the earliest murtis of Shri Hari, contributed to the design of the Swaminarayan Tilak-Chandlo, and supervised important artistic and temple works. His greatest legacy is the monumental Shri Haricharitramrut Sagar — a vast spiritual epic of 28 Purs, 2,307 Tarangs, and over 98,000 verses, written over more than thirteen years and preserving the divine charitras, teachings, and glory of Bhagwan Swaminarayan for generations.

Sadguru Shri Haripriyadasji Swami, a deeply revered saint remembered for his boundless enthusiasm, loving nature, unwavering devotion, and firm determination to please God. His life was marked by wholehearted obedience to divine commands and a joyful readiness to serve in every circumstance. Filled with affection yet steadfast in principle, he remained resolute in his spiritual path and devoted himself completely to the pleasure of God and Guru. These qualities made his life a radiant example of love, devotion, enthusiasm, and determination for generations to follow.

Meditation • Seva • Preservation

Sadguru Shri Vaikunthcharandasji Swami, born in Dabhan in VS 1892, was a deeply contemplative and disciplined saint whose life was marked by constant meditation on Shri Hari, sincere austerities, and devoted service to saints and devotees. Patient, thoughtful, and unwavering in following divine commands, he also rendered important service in the consecration of temples. One of his most valuable contributions was personally preserving nearly 200 kirtans composed by Sadguru Shri Adharanand Swami, carefully writing and binding them into a manuscript. Portions of this collection survive even today and later became an important basis for the publication of the Adharanand Kirtanavali, preserving a precious part of the Parampara’s devotional heritage.

Fearless Propagator of Satsang

Sadguru Shri Narayanswarupdasji Swami, born in Mahedav on Shravan Vad Ekadashi, VS 1969 (1913), was a distinguished scholar, profound knower of Brahmvidya, and one of the foremost orators of his time. Deeply absorbed in meditation and firmly established in Dharma, he dedicated his life to spreading the principles of Satsang. Travelling tirelessly from village to village, he inspired countless devotees through his powerful discourses, scriptural wisdom, and exemplary spiritual conduct. His life reflected a rare harmony of knowledge, devotion, discipline, and unwavering commitment to Dharma, leaving a lasting spiritual influence upon the Parampara and the wider Satsang community.

Seva • Humility • Motherly Love

P.P. Sadguru Shri Nandkishordasji Swami (Dadaguruji), born in Limadhara on Jeth Sud Bhim Ekadashi, VS 1981 (1925), was a rare embodiment of saintliness, selfless service, humility, and boundless compassion. From the very beginning, his life was centered on serving Bhagwan, saints, devotees, the poor, cows, and the sick, and even after assuming great responsibilities within the Satsang, he never allowed position or recognition to touch his simplicity. As a devoted successor of Sadguru Shri Narayanswarupdasji Swami, he strengthened and expanded Satsang across numerous centers including Pij, Dabhan, Surat, Dholera, Mumbai, and Chanod, while nurturing countless saints and devotees with the affection of a mother. His extraordinary humility was such that he attributed every achievement to the grace of Bhagwan Swaminarayan and his Guru, and even those who opposed him were ultimately won over by his forgiveness and saintly conduct. Dadaguruji’s life became a living example of seva without expectation, leadership without ego, and love without distinction, and his greatest legacy continues through Pujya Guruji.
